MISSION
The Spinning Wheel Film Festival (SWFF) is a cinematic examination of Sikh life and culture, as well as of universal themes such as human rights, global peace, religious freedom, and tolerance. The SWFF seeks to use the power of film and video to both entertain and educate, while also challenging conventional perspectives on complex and controversial issues facing Sikhs and the world community alike. |
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
SWFF is a 3-day showcase of outstanding Sikh film and video, featuring a diverse mix of genres
including documentary, independent, foreign and narrative films. Founded in 2003, the SWFF has quickly
grown in size and reputation. Screenings are supplemented with guest speakers, who provide a dynamic
forum for audience dialogue with actors, filmmakers and other expert panelists.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
For consideration, applicants must complete the entry form below, and submit the following:
- Screener, VHS NTSC or DVD (Note: Other media formats will not be accepted)
- Press kit, biography, film summary (if available)
- Self-addressed return envelope (if you would like your VHS/DVD returned)

 The SWFF is open to American and International entries. |
 Submission materials will not be returned, unless requested and a return
envelope is provided. |

 To qualify for consideration, all submissions must have relevance to Sikh themes,
issues, history, heritage, culture and/or current events. |
 The SWFF retains sole discretion to accept or decline submissions. Submission
of a
film does not guarantee exhibition at the Festival. Decisions of the Film Selection
Committee are final. |
|
 The SWFF will consider all films regardless of any prior or pending commercial, the
atrical or
television play. However, preference is given to those entries that have not
yet been screened
previously within the Toronto region, or on television.

Selected film entries will be notified directly at least two months prior to the Festival.

Declined applicants will be notified by mail following the decision of the Film Selection
Committee.No specific reasons for decline will be provided. |

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 The SWFF accepts no responsibility for late, lost, damaged or ineligible entries. Finalist
film printsand videotapes will be handled with utmost care. However, the SWFF cannot
assume liability fordamage to or loss of these materials. |

 By entering the SWFF, applicants certify that they have the legal right to enter the film in
the SWFF.The applicant is hereby responsible and liable for any breach of rights or the
law in the submission. |

 By entering the SWFF, the entrant grants the right to publish or transmit portions of
the film for thepurpose of press or promotion, unless otherwise noted. |
